Description

Video analysis is an important part of elite football. It helps to develop players' and the team's understanding of the game and their awareness of processes, decisions, and interrelationships on the field. However, existing systems are costly and time-consuming and therefore for amateur and junior teams mostly not applicable. An Austrian startup has developed an inexpensive plug & play video analysis solution for all football clubs. The system consists of 1) An easy-to-mount camera system consisting of two 4K cameras, which records the whole football field. Various mounting solutions are available. 2) A small logic box connected to a power outlet. The box is cabled to the cameras and connected to the digital cloud via a wireless connection (WLAN). 3) A digital app, where the videos are accessible and processable. The digital app has the following functions: - Every trainer has its own access to his teams via any internet-enabled device. - Via the calendar function the training and games can be recorded automatically - The camera adjusts itself automatically to record the right space, where the ball is situated - The AI algorithm identifies the ball and every player automatically - The tagging board can be individually adjusted. Depending on scope this can go from simple chances and goals to a full-blown analysis of the transitional play, pressing patterns and so on. - Via the live-tagging function, trainers do not only tag after the game but also during the game. - Scenes selected for the analysis can then be organised into presentations just by dragging and dropping them into playlists. Further clips can be downloaded and shared with players and staff or converted into highlights for marketing purposes. A zoom function for scenes is available since December. - To make visualising scenes even easier coaches can draw directly into the videos. Adding arrows, colour spaces, and commenting on clips is ensuring to make analysis even more vivid for the players. They offer a financial agreement for investors, a commercial agreement with technical assistance for resellers, and a license agreement for football clubs and federations. The goal for summer 2023 is to provide tracking data and statistics of all the players without the need of any additional hardware directly from our videos. Starting with running and positional data of both teams it will be able to recognize events such as goals, shots, corners, etc. completely automatically. This allows all coaches to analyse game data, player data always in combination with video footage. This way the trainer not only knows how many sprints the players have made but also when and why as well.
